A criminal complaint filed in the Magistrate Court of Logan County documents the arrest of William David Maynard, 36, of Lenore.

Maynard is accused of keeping the victims debit/ATM card after purchasing items at the store Maynard worked at. Maynard attempted to withdraw money using the card at the store on twice, but was unsuccessful. After leaving work, Maynard went first to a restaurant, where he is accused of using the card to make fraudulent charges of $50.50 while representing himself as the victim, then he traveled to another establishment where he allegedly represented himself as the victim and made another $67 in charges. During each transaction, Maynard used a computer device to commit the crimes.

After completing these purchases, Maynard returned the card to the victim’s mother-in-law.

Maynard was arrested and faces felony charges: two counts of credit card forgery and four counts of computer fraud as well as four counts of fraudulent use of a credit card, which are misdemeanor charges.
