The Mingo County Redevelopment Authority (MCRA) will soon have a new modernized web-site to help promote and market the county for new businesses.

MCRA Assistant Director Leasha Johnson has been working with Rahall Transportation Institute (RTI) and Bulldog Creative Service for the past nine months to design and develop the new site. The company is located in Huntington.

The MCRA’s new web-site contains GIS web application which will allow for web-based marketing of Mingo County’s available business and industrial development sites.

“This will be state-of-the-art,” Johnson said. “It is a work in progress.”

They hope to launch the new web-page any day.

“This will paint a virtual picture of what economic opportunities we have,” Johnson added. “It will include all of the important information.”

“This should be very resourceful for entrepreneurs and businesses need to take advantage of the opportunities available,” she added.

The GIS application will combine basic site information such as property size, lease/purchase prices, infrastructure information, demographics, transportation and other relevant information to allow site selectors. Johnson added that Mingo County properties that are most conducive to their business and development needs.

“Construction and design of the new web-site is complete, but because RTI is in the process of relocating its office to a new physical address, the new site will not be launched until one day this week when the server relocation and configuration are complete,” Johnson concluded.
