PARKERSBURG, W.Va. — The latest Secondary School Activities Commission’s weekly high school football computer ratings have been released.

Mingo Central (5-2) is ranked No. 13 this week, but could gain some points this week if they can defeat Class 3A Logan (5-2) at home on Friday night. The Wildcats are ranked No. 13 in their classification.

Other teams in the region that are ranked and can make the playoffs with strong finishes in the last three weeks of the regular season include Man, Chapmanville, Wyoming East and Tolsia.

The Hillbillies (6-1) are ranked No. 5 in Class A, Chapmanville (4-3) is ranked 18th in Double A, while Tolsia (3-4) is ranked 19th. Wyoming East (7-1) is still in the top eight at No. 5.

The final stretch of the regular season will see teams hoping to finish in the top 16 and make the post season. Many teams hope to get enough bonus points to stay in the top eight and host a first round playoff game. Depending how things shake out, if a team in the top eight wins, they could host a second or even third home playoff contest.

This is only the third season for Mingo Central as a school. They made the playoffs last year for the first time. They have not yet hosted a home playoff game at the new Buck Harless Stadium up on the mountain top site of the new consolidated school and football field.

The top 16 teams in each class qualify for the playoffs starting Nov. 15:
