Slavens-Lansden announce engagement

Brenna K. Slavens and Tyler G. Lansden, both of Morgantown, are pleased to announce their engagement and forthcoming marriage.


The bride-elect is the daughter of William and Carol Slavens of Jackson, Ohio, and the granddaughter of the late Denver and Averill Walke and the late Marion and Maxine Slavens, all of Jackson. Brenna is a 2005 graduate of Jackson High School in Jackson and a 2009 graduate of the W. Page Pitt School of Journalism at Marshall University. She is a former TV news anchor and communications specialist for the State of Ohio. Currently, she is pursuing a second degree at West Virginia University.


The prospective groom is the son of Lanny and Gayle Lansden of Wright, Wyo., formerly of Chapmanville. Tyler is a 2005 graduate of Chapmanville High School, a 2009 graduate of Marshall University and 2012 graduate of the West Virginia University College of Law. He is a practicing attorney in Morgantown.


The couple is planning a wedding ceremony for September 6, 2014, at the historic Keith Albee Theatre in Huntington.
