Former resident’s son VP of Burke Industrial Coatings

RIDGEFIELD, Wash. — Burke Industrial Coatings has hired John E. Thompson of West Palm Beach, Fla., has been named the new vice president of sales and marketing for Burke Industrial Coatings, a national leader in industrial coating technology. He began work Nov. 1. 2013.

Thompson is the son of Nancy Roberts Root, a 1961 graduate Logan High School, of Moneta, Va., and the grandson of Hallie and Norma Roberts, who resided in Mt. Gay.

Thompson holds a Masters of Business Administration degree and has 18 years of sales and management experience, with extensive knowledge of the industrial coatings field.

At Burke, Thompson is responsible for planning and implementing sales and marketing activities. He also will manage the company’s communications and public relations, and will oversee the development of new products and business leads.

He was He will be joined in Vancouver, Wash., by his wife, Sherry Murphy Thompson.

Burke Industrial Coatings President Jim Harris announced the addition to the company’s staff recently at the International PMMI show in Las Vegas.
