LHS FCA hosts events

The Logan High School Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) conducted Winter Sports Day, an out of school event that showcased girl’s and boy’s basketball, weight-lifting, wrestling, and cheerleading athletes at the First Baptist Church of McConnell Sun., Feb. 23. Sports teams from Logan High, Logan Middle, various cheer squads, the girls league and buddy league attended. Inspiration speaker for the day was former head basketball coach of the Point Pleasant Big Blacks, Richie Blain. Each coach that attended introduced their teams and gave a summary of their successes. A delicious luncheon was enjoyed by all. FCA is a nationally known organization that promotes spirituality among middle school, high school, college, and pro athletes. Logan High has been involved in the FCA for more than 14 years. FCA is a faith based association that endorses fellowship, good sportsmanship, drug-free living and the team concept bound by belief in God. FCA meets every week at Logan High in John E. Godby’s classroom.
