CHAPMANVILLE — Action was back under way in the Coalfield Youth Soccer League last Saturday at Chapmanville as Week 3 matches were played.
In the 17-and-under division, the Wolverines defeated the Knights 2-1. Patterson Workman scored for the Wolverines and there was also an own goal. Zach Lamb scored the Knights only goal.
In another 17-and-under game, the Ninjas defeated the Knights 17-1. Hunter Napier led the Ninjas with seven goals. Bryce Hamilton and Joey Vinson tallied three each, while Jimetta Early, Walker Jeffery and Aidan Napier each scored one as well as an own goal being scored. Zach Lamb scored the Knights’ only goal.
In the 12-aud under division, the Phoenix edged out the Destroyers 6-3. Sara Preston led the Phoenix with a hat trick, while Walter Macnamara had two goals and Cameron Adkins reached the nets once. Hailey Chewning and John Justice each scored for the Destroyers as well as an own goal being scored.
In another 12-and under match, the Predators defeated the Royal Thunder 13-2. Kevin Hanshaw led the Predators with three goals, Ryan Elliott and Jayde Kuenzel had two and Megan Ward, Chloe Simms, Xavier Trump, Peyton Adams, Eddie Paynter and Kameran Craddock each scored one. Jamari Turner and Allie Burton scored for the Royal Thunder.
In the 9-and-under division, the Fighting Geckos defeated the Minions 11-0. Jax Hartle led the Fighting Geckos with five goals, while Riley Reed scored four and Emily Runyon and Hope Bannister tallied one each.
The Blue Lightning defeated the Spartans 10-1 in another 9-and-under match. Peyton Hoffman and Madison Hoffman led the Blue Lightning with two goals each. Weslee Adkins, Jackson Norman, Kameron Goff and Ian Brumfield each scored one. Two own goals were also counted. Dhruu Panchal scored the Spartans’ only goal.
The Toxic Shock defeated the Storm 6-1. Jacob Walls led the Toxic Shock with three goals, while Christopher Gibson, Diezel Cook and Jaxton Tipton each scored one. Bryson Adkins scored the Storm’s only goal.
The Fighting Geckos also beat the Pumas 8-2. Jax Hartle led the Fighting Geckos with three goals, while Riley Reed and Emily Runyon each had two and Jaylen Gillman one. Nick Elliot scored both goals for the Pumas.
CYSL Action is scheduled to continue this Saturday at the Mullins Soccer Complex on Sawmill Road in Chapmanville.
