Semi-pro football coming to Chapmanville Saturday

CHAPMANVILLE — Semi-pro football is coming to Chapmanville’s Tiger Stadium.

The West Virginia Lightning is scheduled to play on Saturday at 7 p.m.

There will be other events as well, including a weight lifting event sponsored by Chapmanville Regional High School. This will include Logan, Mingo Central, Lincoln County, Sherman, Man and Scott high schools.

There will also be a youth punt, pass and kick competition sponsored by the Chapmanville Midget Football League.

The West Virginia Lightning will also be doing specialty skills training from 1-3:30 p.m.

The Southern West Virginia Flag Football League will be playing the Lightning from 3:45-5 p.m.

Chapmanville Mayor Jerry Price will be conducting the coin flip.

The winners of the punt, pass and kick competition will be announced at halftime.
