MADISON — The Chapmanville 9-10-year-old All-Stars were ousted by Pineville 18-17 in Wednesday night’s District 2 Little League Baseball Tournament at Madison.
With the win, Pineville (3-1) advances to the upcoming 9-10 state tournament.
Chapmanville saw its all-star season come to a close at 3-2.
No further information or statistics were available on the game.
Madison (3-0) had already secured a trip to the 9-10 state tourney as it won 8-2 over Pineville on Tuesday night to take the District 2 championship flag.
Pineville had to fight back in the loser’s bracket but also punched its ticket to state with Wednesday’s win over Chapmanville.
Chapmanville had advanced with Tuesday’s 20-6 win over Tug Valley.
Chapmanville beat Tug Valley twice in the district tourney, also scoring a 20-11 win on Saturday. Chapmanville then lost 10-0 to host Madison on Sunday and came back Monday night with a 10-0 win in four innings over Welch.
Tug Valley finished the tournament with a 2-2 mark.
Chapmanville 9-10 team members include: Brody Dalton; Scout Adams; Caleb Whitt; Evan Plumley; Tyson Thompson; Jacob Toppings; Will Kirkendoll; Sam Leslie; Jacob Blair; Trey Butcher; Jordan Hayes; and Brady Raines.
The manager is Adam Whitt. The coaches are David Plumley and Chopper Kirkendoll.
The Chapmanville Little League is the host of next week’s 11-12-year-old tournament at Tracy Vickers Field.
Only seven teams are in the field: host Chapmanville; Tug Valley; Pineville; Madison; Welch; Man; and Mullens.
