Girling Home Health has announced that it is changing its name to Gentiva Home Health.

The company, which has been serving the local community for the past 29 years, has been a member of the Gentiva home health and hospice family of companies since October 2013. They say that new name change now more truly reflects the relationship and resources of being a part of a national leader in home health, but will not change their duties as a company.

“As with Girling Home Health, Gentiva Home Health’s care is centered on providing quality care in the home that rests on the compassion, commitment and careful training of highly respected clinicians and aides,” Gentiva’s local Branch Director Tammy Thompson said. “While we will stay focused on serving the local community, our being part of Gentiva means our patients benefit from the strengths that a national company can bring in advanced home care therapies and technology.”

Thompson said that many area residents 65 or over have difficulty getting to health facilities when they are ill.

“Our clinicians make sure patients get the high-quality healthcare they want and need without having to leave their homes,” Thompson said. “At the same time, doctors and other referral sources know that they can count on us to provide quality healthcare and seek positive outcomes for their patients.”
