CHAPMANVILLE, W.Va. — Cory Matthew Price 21, of Chapmanville, went home to be with the Lord Monday, August 8, 2011, at St. Mary’s Medical Center at Huntington.

Born January 13, 1990, in Charleston, he was the son of Jerry G. Jr. and Marlene Jeffrey Price of Chapmanville.

Preceding him in death was his grandfather, Jerry G. Price Sr.

Cory enjoyed Swift Water Rescue, Rope Rescue, diving and fishing. He was a member of the Chapmanville Volunteer Fire Department and the Logan Fire Department and worked for the Logan Emergency Ambulance Service Association (LEASA) and Task Force 1. Cory was also a member of the First Church of Christ of Chapmanville.

Additionally, those left to cherish his memory include one sister, Amanda Kai Price of Chapmanville, and his grandparents, Alice Price and Doug and Mary Jeffrey, all of Chapmanville.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, August 12, at the First Church of Christ in Chapmanville with Chad Neil and Bill Runyon officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.

Pallbearers will be the Chapmanville Volunteer Fire Department.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Logan Fire Department and the Task Force 1.

Visitation will be from 6-10 p.m. Thursday at the church.

Freeman Funeral Home of Chapmanville is in charge of the arrangements.
