HUNTINGTON - A Branchland woman was sentenced on Jan. 30 in relation to a DUI crash that left two of her children dead in 2017.

In March 2017, a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 64 in Milton killed 3-year-old Skylor Cole Cooper and 1-year-old Sarah Lea Cooper. Also injured was 7-year old Madilyn Burgess.

Siera Burgess, 26, of Lincoln County was given two consecutive sentences in Cabell County circuit court. She received three to 15 years on each count of DUI causing death and one to 10 for child neglect resulting in injury.

In December 2017, Burgess entered a Kennedy plea of guilt to two counts of DUI causing death and one count of neglect causing serious bodily injury.
