Logan County Schools hosted its 66th annual County Spelling Bee on Wed., Jan. 15. Spellers from Chapmanville, Logan, and Man Middle Schools competed for the chance to advance to the regional competition. After 16 rounds, CMS student Emily Triplett took home the top honor when she spelled the word “temporal” for the win. The first runner-up was Savannah Toney from CMS, and the third place winner was Grace Crosby from MMS. Triplett and Toney will both advance to the state’s regional competition on March 22, 2014, at Capital High School.
