One person was injured as the result of a single-vehicle accident that occurred on U.S. Hwy. 25E around 2:13 p.m. Thursday. According to a report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP), Rickie Wayne Jackson, 58, of Knoxville, was traveling north on U.S. Hwy. 25E just north of the flea market near the intersection of 25E and England Cemetery Lane when he exited off the roadway to the right, onto a grassy embankment. The vehicle, a 2001 BMW 25, went airborne, struck a ditch and flipped end over end. It came to rest on its top, facing south. The vehicle ended up approximately 30-40 feet off the roadway. Jackson, who was wearing a seat belt, did sustain some injuries and was transported by Claiborne County EMS to the Claiborne County Hospital. THP Trooper Benjamin Dossett is the investigator on the incident. The Claiborne County Sheriff’s Department also responded to the scene.
