A 21-year-old Pineville man was arrested by the Bell County Sheriff’s Department on Monday on a third-degree rape charge.
Aaron H. Hollingsworth was arrested by Bell Sheriff’s Deputy Mike Cooper on the charge.
According to the arrest citation, Hollingsworth engaged in sexual intercourse with another person who was less than 16 years old. He was given a 10,000 cash bond. He posted bail four hours after being arrested and lodged in the Bell County Detention Center.
In other police news, the sheriff’s department arrested Stanley Willis, 57, of Pineville, for second-degree assault. He was arrested by Deputy Patrick Brooks.
According to the arrest citation, Brooks responded to a possible domestic dispute in progress. Upon his arrival, he spoke with the victim, Deborah Howard, who reported she had been assaulted by Willis.
The citation states Howard said Willis used his feet and fists to assault her and then pulled a pocket knife out and began swinging it at her. Willis was located in a nearby yard. He had glossy eyes, slurred speech, was unsteady on his feet and had a strong alcohol odor coming from his person, the citation states.
Willis was also charged with alcohol intoxication in a public place. He was being held at the detention center.
Other individuals recently arrested on felony charges include:
* Candace R. Ralls, 31, of Middlesboro, for second-degree forgery, second-degree possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia;
* Jericho Blanton, 40, of Burnside, for first-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of marijuana, no/expired registration plates and two counts of failure to wear a seat belt;
* Alan Keith Burress, 53, of Middlesboro, for violation of Kentucky EPO/DVO.
