Logan’s own Kaitlin Boytek will be opening for Country star Tyler Farr at The Amphitheater in Clarksburg on July 5 at 7 p.m.

Boytek is extremely excited for the upcoming gig with Farr who is No. 4 on the Billboard charts and singer of country hits such as “Redneck Crazy” and “Whiskey in My Water.”

“We’re actually with the same booking agency, RMA Presents,” Boytek said. “When I opened up for Eric Paslay in February, they contacted me shortly after that show and signed me on.”

Boytek describes her life for the past few years as like a dream. With a constantly full schedule, she performs at festivals across the country and has been featured twice on the CW Network.

“Sometimes I just wake up and I’m like ‘Is this real? Do I really get to do what I love,” Boytek said. “And I’ve been fortunate to only run into good people. Eric Paslay was really nice and really talented and I’ve heard nothing but good things about Tyler Farr.”

Boytek is also releasing her new EP album in the coming months. The album is named Wildcat after her first single from the album. Wildcat was written by Logan County native Cherith Altizer. In fact, all five songs on Boytek’s new album are written by Logan County natives.

Boytek’s good friend, and Reba McEntire’s drummer, Scotty Hawkins had the idea to release a new EP Album.

“He got the guys together and said hey let’s do a second EP Album and let’s do something that you can really put out there and say Here I am. Here’s what I have to offer. So that’s what we did” Boytek said.

The album features quite a few accomplished musicians including Ronald Radford, who did all the strings on the album, and Marshall Tucker Band’s base player Tim Lauder, who also produced the album. Ernest Tubb Record Shop, one of country music’s most known music venues, is even reserving a place on their shelves for the upcoming album.

“We packed up for about a month and went to South Carolina and we recorded the album at Tim Lauder’s studio , Mill Street Studio,” Boytek said.

Although there is no set release date at the moment, Boytek says the album will be released by September 1. For more information, and to stay updated on Boytek’s music, visit her at one of her three social media sites: kaitlinboytek.com, facebook.com/kaitboytek or instagram.com/kaitboytek.
