The Aracoma Story Inc. is now presenting its thrid and final show of the season, Disney’s The Little Mermaid Jr.
Based on the 1989 Disney film and written by Howard Ashman and Allen Menken, The Little Mermaid is the magical tale of the beautiful young mermaid Ariel, who longs to leave her ocean home - and her fins - behind to live in the world above. But first she will have to defy her father, King Triton, make a deal with the evil sea witch, Ursula, and convince the handsome Prince Eric that she’s the girl whose enchanting voice he’s been seeking.
Stevie Brigode is taking on a lot of hats in this production, acting as Artistic Director, Technical Director, Light Design, Choreographer and Stage Manager.
Brigode has degrees from Marshall University (BA) and from West Virginia University (MA), and she has been involved in theater for 54 years. Brigode has performed every duty required in a theater setting, becoming a jack of all trades and a master of quite a few. In the last couple of years she has worked with Kanawha Players, Children’s Theater of Charleston, ARTS (Art Resources of the Tri-state), The Limelight Company, Charleston Stage Company, Fifth Ave. Theater Company (Huntington) and the Charleston Light Operate Guild (CLOG), her home base.
Brigode, who lives in West Virginia, says she is excited to be back in the amphitheater environment because she loves nature almost as much as theater.
