The 13th Annual Sons of American Legion Easter Egg Hunt on Midelburg Island was a huge success. This event was sponsored by the Sons of the American Legion with assistance from the Ladies Auxiliary and the American Legion Post 19 members who presented the bicycles as prizes.
Also attending was our special Legion member the Easter Bunny. Logan County Commission gave support and funding. In addition, New Day Family Worship Center has joined forces with the American Legion to make this an even bigger success. They provided over 10,000 candy filled eggs, free hot dogs, drinks and face painting.
The City of Logan Fire Department and the Verdunville Fire Department brought Fire Pup along for pictures. A special 10-year-old volunteer won our hearts, Salinah Rose Daniels. She kept busy, along with our volunteers, preparing the buckets for each of the 700 children that attended.
The Sons of the Legion and American Legion would like to commend the following businesses that offered donations to make this all possible: McCormick’s; Logan County Commission; City of Logan; Daves II; American Hydraulics; Special Occasions; Busted Knuckle; Putzy’s Pizza; B&B Loans; Smart Shop; Regina’s Beauty Salon; Tri State Gun and Pawn; A Touch of Class; Wendy’s; Uncle Sam’s Loans; Hillbilly Barber Shop; Peggy’s Beauty Shop; Keith’s Bar and Grill; Man City Hall employees; Man Clothing; M&J Jewelry; Town Pharmacy; Don Browning Jewelry; Southern Amusement; Ted Tomblin; Fekete Printing; P&A Auto Body; Dardi Distributing, a special thank you to everyone who donated money on the street who were far too many to list separately, and to the Logan County Board of Education for the use of the site. Also contributing many hours were Stacy Maynard, Connie Maynard, Sally Stollings, Kelly Hale-Grubb, Faye Selvey, Sherri Krekus and the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion Post 19. We add a special thank you to anyone that we may have inadvertently failed to list.
