Logan High School, as part of the Safe Supportive Schools initiative, will hold “Commit to Graduate” Fri., May 23, at 9 a.m. in the Willie Akers Arena. This program targets current 8th grade students from Logan Middle School.
Parents and families of current LMS 8th graders are invited and encouraged to attend “Commit to Graduate” (C2G).
C2G is just one piece of an overall program designed to help bridge the transition between middle school and high school.
Logan High School is working to help incoming freshman and their families get off to an effective start in their high school careers. Throughout this year current 8th graders have participated in several high school events, including Battle of the Classes, Rachael’s Challenge Presentations, and now the Commit to Graduate Event.
C2G will be an event that will encourage 8th graders and their families to become fully committed to achieving high school graduation in four years.
During the C2G event middle school students and their families will have the opportunity to envision their own graduation. They will cross the “bridge to their futures” and hear their names called to cross the graduation stage. Additionally, middle school students will have the chance to hear from current Freshman, Sophomore, Junior and Senior student representatives about what attitudes and actions will be most helpful in achieving success at high school.
Parents and families who wish to attend the program should report to the Willie Akers Arena at Logan High School by 8:50 a.m. Friday, May 23, and be seated in the bleachers. At 9 a.m. the Logan Middle School 8th graders will march into the field house and the program will begin. The program will finish by 10 a.m.
