Sarah Jane Wandling and Ryan Andrew Seacrist were united in marriage Sat., Aug, 10, 2013 at Christ Church United Methodist in Charleston at five thirty in the evening with the Rev. Shauna Hyde performing the ceremony.
The couple will celebrate their first anniversary with a trip to Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon.
Sarah is the daughter of Donald and Anne Little Wandling of Chapmanville. Ryan is the son of Gary and Teresa Seacrist of South Charleston.
The bride, attired in a long ivory satin gown with a lace mantilla, was escorted to the altar by her father and given in marriage by her parents. Maid of honor was Tristan Gartin, friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were Kelli Elkins, Melissa Pearson, Sarah Skaff and Rachel Hicks, all friends of the bride; and Melissa Bruno Wandling, sister in law of the bride. Flower girl was Sofia Wandling, niece of the bride. The attendants were attired in Tiffany blue.
Best man was Charles Seacrist, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Christian Brand, Jacob Pitman, Patrick Brennan, Jason Wells and Andrew Judy, all friends of the groom. Ushers were David Wandling and Steven Wandling, brothers of the bride. Jaxon Seacrist, nephew of the groom, was the ring bearer.
The music was provided by organist, Dr. David Donathan. Selections were from Pachelbel’s Canon in D and Allegro Maestoso (Water Music) by Handel.
The mothers of the couple lit the memorial candle in memory of the bride’s grandparents, Herbert and Frances Little and Donald and Kathryn Wandling; and the groom’s grandparents, John and Marjorie Seacrist and Mary Foster; and the bride’s aunt, Jane Little Hensley.
Following the ceremony, a reception was hosted by the bride’s parents at The Grand Pavilion at the Charleston Town Center Marriott. Entertainment was provided by Matt Pauley, DJ. The groom’s parents hosted the rehearsal dinner at the Vandalia Grille in Charleston.
Prenuptial events were hosted by Jean Allen Tinurelli, Mary Fischer and the women of Nighbert Memorial United Methodist Church in Logan.
Sarah is a graduate of Chapmanville High School and graduated cum laude from West Virginia University where she received a bachelor of science degree in nursing. She is employed as a registered nurse at Charleston Area Medical Center, Memorial Division. She is currently pursuing a master of science in nursing at the Marshall University College of Health Professions, where she is studying to be a family nurse practitioner.
Ryan is a graduate of Capital High School. He graduated cum laude from West Virginia University with a bachelor of science degree in landscape architecture and is employed as a senior landscape architect at GAI Consultants Inc. in Charleston.
The couple honeymooned in Cancun, Mexico at the Capri Secrets Resort. They have made their home in South Charleston with their pets Lucy and Geppetto.
