Logan Motorcycle Sales will host the 9th Annual Steve “Duco” Ratz Memorial Ride Sun., Sept. 14. The memorial ride honors LMS founder Steve Ratz. The event will have food, soft drinks, giveaways and prizes waiting at the end of the ride, as well as winners of the Best and Worst hand.
Registration will begin at 10:30 a.m., and participants will leave from Logan Motorcycle Sales at 1 p.m. The exact route to be taken this year is yet to be determined.
“Its amazing how many motorcycle enthusiast remember the first time they came into the store and how Steve treated them, we hear a different story almost everyday,” the LMS team said. “I bet you or someone you know has one, so join us for an enjoyable poker run ride through southern West Virginia and eastern Kentucky.”
For the third straight year, all proceeds will benefit the June Montgomery Harless Children’s Home at Holden, a program of the Children’s Home Society of West Virginia. The June Harless Shelter is a non-profit emergency shelter who temporarily houses abandoned, abused, and neglected youth. Each year, those associated with the Harless Shelter have enjoyed riding and sharing their story about the work they do.
Logan Motor Sports’ Denny Frost said they had a great turn out for the 2013 ride. The ride usually averages about 75 bikes, 100-150 participants.
Registration fee for the ride is $15 per bike or $20 for rider and passenger. Free T-shirts will be offered with registration.
