BAISDEN - A female defendant was taken into custody on charges of domestic violence after she allegedly struck her mother in the face multiple times, resulting in injury.

Mingo County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. J.W. Muncy and Cpl. C.G. Endicott were dispatched by Mingo County 911 to investigate a complaint of a domestic assault in process at a Baisden residence. Upon arrival, the officers placed Johnna Newcomb-Williamson under arrest after they discovered that she had became involved in a verbal argument with her mother, Della Williamson, that soon turned physically violent.

The victim was found to have lacerations, contusions, redness and swelling on her head and face, that were said to have been caused by a physical attack from her daughter. The defendant is also accused of shoving the victim to the ground, causing additional injuries.

Newcomb-Williamson was placed under arrest and was then arraigned by Mingo County Magistrate Pam Newsome, and was later released from custody after meeting the requirements and stipulations of her bond. The victim was taken to a local hospital where she was treated for her injuries.
