WILLIAMSON - A total of ten defendants who had been indicted by the Mingo County Grand Jury on a variety of charges were arraigned before Circuit Judge John Cummings on Friday.


Easter Lois Cantrell (Indictment S13-F124) was indicted on one count each of burglary and grand larceny. The defendant allegedly burglarized the home of Gabriel Mahon and stole assorted jewelry valued at approximately $5,000; a Rugger SR40 firearm valued at $600, a Kodak camera worth $300 plus prescription pills (Suboxone).


Jennifer Rose Chafin (Indictment S13-F125) stands indicted on charges of one count of child abuse resulting in serious bodily injury; one count of child abuse resulting in bodily injury; one count of child neglect resulting in serious bodily injury. and one count of child neglect resulting in bodily injury. The abuse allegedly took place between the 1st and the 11th of April, 2013, with both children being juveniles.


Ronald Lee Estepp (Indictment S13-F126) was indicted by the grand jury on one count of 1st degree robbery. The defendant allegedly did steal a 1999 Pontiac Trans Sport and $200 in currency from victim Nellie Hannah while threatening her life with a deadly weapon.


Rodney Harrison (Indictment S13-F127) was arraigned after being indicted on charges of obtaining a controlled substance by deception or subterfuge. Harrison, who was employed as a Paramedic for Stafford Emergency Medical Service in September, 2012, when the crime allegedly occurred, did unlawfully obtain Morphine, a Schedule II controlled substance, from his employer.


Daniel Scott Hatfield (Indictment S13-F128) was indicted on two counts each of sexual abuse by a parent, guardian or custodian and first degree sexual assault. The crime is said to have taken place between December 2006 and December 2008.


James Carl Mitchell (Indictment S13-F129) was arraigned on charges of one count each of child neglect resulting in serious bodily injury and child neglect resulting in bodily injury. Mitchell us accused of neglecting two children and abusing them physically, putting their safety and well being at risk.


Oscar Roberts II (Indictment S13-F130) was arrested, indicted and arraigned on two counts of wanton endangerment. Roberts is accused of performing an act with a firearm which created a substantial risk of death or serious bodily injury to Vicky White.


George M. Snell (Indictment S13-F131) was indicted on charges of one count each of first degree sexual abuse, delivery of a Schedule I controlled substance and burglary. Snell, on Feb. 26, 2102, did engage in sexual assault with a female victim without her consent by forcible compulsion. On the same date, the defendant is said to have delivered a Schedule I controlled substance (marijuana) and on Aug 15, 2012, Snell allegedly broke into the residence of Sandra Sincell with intent to commit a larceny.


Mike H. Toler (Indictment S13-F132) was arraigned on charges of one count each of possession of a Schedule II controlled substance (Oxycodone) with intent to deliver; possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance (Alprazolam) with intent to deliver; possession of a Schedule II controlled substance (Morphine) with intent to deliver and obstructing an officer.


Stephen Rufus Varney (Indictment S13-F133) was indicted on one count each of third offense DUI; fleeing and malicious assault on a police officer. Varney was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs on May 17, 2013 after fleeing from the arresting officer, WVSP Trooper D.M. Williamson, whom he struck with an ATV.
