CHAPMANVILLE — Chapmanville Police Department officers made a traffic stop on a vehicle with Kentucky license plates that was doing 75 mph southbound along Corridor G on Fri., Oct. 25, that resulted in a drug bust.
While approaching the vehicle at the CPD Officers Cpl. N. Tucker and Lt. D.A. Browning observed the driver, Jonica Lynn Young, and the passenger, Heather Wilson, moving around in the vehicle.
Officers obtained permission to search the vehicle and allegedly found a clear bag containing what they believed to be Heroin located in the center console. After the officers informed the duo that they had called in a female officer to do search, Young removed another clear bag with what was considered to be Heroin from between her legs.
According to the criminal complaint, Young and Wilson advised the offices that it was Heroin in the bags. The bag in the console allegedly belonged to Wilson. Young had originally hid her bag in her bra, but moved it to between her legs. Total amount of Heroin was 1 gram.
Young, 32, of Williamson, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and speeding. At press time, she was incarcerated in the Southwestern Regional Jail on a $3,500 bail.
Wilson, 29, of Prestonsburg, Ky., was released on a $3,500 bond.
