The Everyone with Diabetes Counts program is offering free diabetes education classes around the state for people with Medicare.
The free classes are part of a program led by the West Virginia Medical Institute. The classes are open to people with Medicare who have diabetes, their family, and caregivers.
Nurses, community health workers, and volunteers trained by WVMI will cover topics that include managing every aspect of diabetes, nutrition, exercise, and important tests and exams.
Upcoming classes in Logan County are at Buffalo Creek Memorial Library on February 10th at 11 a.m., and Logan Regional Medical Center on each Thursday at 3 p.m.
Upcoming classes in Mingo County are at the Harry L. Joyce Senior on February 13th at 12 p.m., and Stepptown/Kermit Office of Valley Health each Tuesday at 2 p.m.
