Logan County Clerk John Turner has rescinded his previous request to change voting precinct No. 21.

During Logan County Commission’s final meeting for the 2013-14 fiscal year, County Clerk John Turner addressed the commission about a voting precinct change.

Precinct 21 in Amherstdale, which is currently located at the Amherstdale State Road Garage, reportedly had some issues. Problems with pigeons flying around, droppings and temperature gauging have led to poll workers refusing to work in those conditions.

The solution Turner provided was to combine precinct 21 with precinct 20 at Buffalo Grade School.

Since the approval of this request, Turner, along with County Commission President Danny Godby, has received multiple phone calls from concerned citizens who did not like the change. Upon further investigation, Turner found that the office space provided at the State Road Garage in Amherstdale is a suitable area.

The only change that will be made concerning precinct 21 is moving it to the provided office space within the State Road Garage.

All citizens who previously reported to precinct 21 in Amherstdale will continue to do so in this November’s General Election.
