Vicki C. Richardson, 51 of Logan, was charged with malicious wounding on April 11.
Deputy Derrick Miller responded to an EMS call in Cora to clear a scene for EMS who had a female with a large laceration and was bleeding heavily. Deputy Miller arrived on scene to find the victim lying on the ground covered in blood in front of a mobile home. The victim had what appeared to be a knife wound on her right hand.
Deputy Miller asked the victim what had happened. She stated that she and Richardson had gotten into a physical altercation and Richardson had cut her with a knife. The victim was transported to LRMC for treatment.
Deputy Miller then searched for and found Richardson, who is suspected, by evidence and eyewitness testimonies, to be the perpetrator in this case.
Richardson’s bail was set for $5,000.
- Russell Cecil Blankenship, 33 of Amherstdale, was charged on March 11 for malicious wounding, brandishing a deadly weapon and two counts of battery.
Troopers Booth Sr. and Glaspell responded to a call from the Emergency room at Logan Regional Medical Center on an assault complaint. They noticed that the victim had multiple lacerations to the head. The victim said Blankenship hit him over the head with a brick multiple times.
On March 19, another victim claimed that Blankenship brandished a butcher knife on her and choked her. This victim had been staying with Blankenship and his wife when the incident occurred.
His bail was set for $10,000.
- Rush Junior Adkins, 55 of Lyburn, was charged on April 10 with domestic battery, domestic assault, and assault on an officer.
Upon receiving a complaint of domestic dispute involving Adkins on Madison Creek, Deputy Carter arrived on scene to find him hiding in the creek. Deputy Carter got Adkins from the creek and handcuffed him for safety.
Adkins told Deputy Carter to take the handcuffs off and he would kick the Deputy’s a**. Carter then attempted to get Adkins to stand and get into the police cruiser, but Adkins refused.
Carter applied a one second burst of pepper spray to Adkins’ facial area. Adkins then decided to comply to the Deputy’s requests. Carter then spoke with the victim who claimed that her husband had hit her several times and pushed her to the ground.
She also stated that Adkins had threatened her with bodily harm. His bail was set for $3,000.
