Dorothy M. Ferrell, 28 of Crown, was charged with nighttime burglary on April 18 by the Logan County Sheriff Department.
The LCSD responded to a call of a possible entering without breaking in Kistler. When they arrived on scene, they found Ferrell detained in an empty lot by the victim.
Upon further investigation, the deputies found that Ferrell was under the influence of a controlled substance and allegedly entered the victim’s home without breaking or permission, went into the back bedroom of the residence and attempted to steal the victim’s purse, along with some prescription medication.
After she entered the residence with intent to commit a crime, she fled on foot.
However, the victim chased her down and detained her in a nearby empty lot until the police arrived. Ferrell was released on bond earlier this week.
- Joseph Allen Rogers, __ of Chapmanville, was charged with unlawful manufacturing, delivery, or possession of a controlled substance with intent to manufacture or deliver.
Members of the U.S. 119 Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force, along with officers from the West Virginia State Police, executed a warranted search of Rogers’ residence.
Officers found and seized different milligram Oxymorphone (schedule II controlled narcotic) pills, different milligram Roxicodone pills and Alprazolam (schedule IV controlled narcotic) pills mixed together in a single bottle. They also seized an undisclosed amount of cash.
Rogers’ was released on a bond earlier this week.

Jacky Lee Hoosier, __ years old, was charged with public intoxication and disorderly conduct by the WVSP on April 15. His bail is set for $2,500.
Michael Allen Hoosier, __ years old, was charged with public intoxication, disorderly conduct and obstructing an officer by the WVSP on April 15. His bail is set for $2,500.
Stephanie Yvonne Chapman, __ years old, was charged with petit larceny by the Logan Police Department on April 15. Her bail is set for $2,500.
