LOGAN — Moms and dads, a great opportunity to win free bikes for your kids and enjoy some other cool stuff is coming up this weekend in Logan County when the annual Kiwanis Club of Logan Bike Rode returns.
In addition to 20 free bicycles being given away to lucky kids, there will be free bike safety helmets as well as free hot dogs and sodas.
“I went to the event one year and set up a display,” noted R.J. Ward. “My grandson was with me helping out and lo and behold at the end of the day, he was the last kid to win a bike. It’s a great event for the whole family.”
The Kiwanis Bike Rodeo will be held at the Fountain Place Cinema 8/Gatti’s parking lot Sat., June 28, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Longtime Kiwanis Club members are urged to show up and volunteer to help out. Prizes are for children age 12 and under and a variety of bikes will be available.
“This is one of those things we do for children in the community,” a longtime Kiwanian told The Logan Banner. “It is also one of those projects that we are only able to do because the community supports us so much. Bring your kids out on Saturday and have yourself a good time with the Kiwanis Club.”
