Dignity Hospice will host its first Annual Pig Roast and Poker Run on July 12 beginning at the Hatfield and McCoy Coal River Trail Head at 9 a.m.

Hospice provides care and assistance to people with life-limiting diseases, their families and caregivers. The services are available in the patient’s home or home-like setting.

Registration cost is $15 and includes a trail pass for both Coal River and Ivy trails for the day, as well as a t-shirt.

Proceeds will benefit patients in Boone, Lincoln, Logan, Mingo and Wayne Counties who may not have insurance coverage.

There will be prizes, giveaways, raffles and a silent auction throughout the day.

A pig roast lunch will be served beginning at 11 a.m. A $5 lunch plate includes the pig roast, hot dogs and sides. Lunch is available for everyone who wishes to attend, including those who do not wish to participate on the trail ride.

A helmet is required for all participants. Adult supervision is required for those under age 16. Personal coolers are permitted, but no alcoholic beverages are allowed.

The event is sponsored by Keefer’s Powersports and 330 Powersports.
