The 21st annual Town of Man Street Fair will be held this weekend, August 1-2, starting at 11 a.m.
The street fair is a town favoite consisting of vendors and activities spanning the two day period. Friday will be mostly a “vendors’ day.” However, the bouncy castles and fun for kids will still be available. Activities begin Saturday at 11 a.m. with a parade in honor of the Man High School A State Championship Baseball Team.
The Town of Man council will host the parade called the Parade of Champions.
The council is also inviting all youth sports, both boys and girls, to participate in the parade. Any team interested in participating can contact Chad Preston at 304-682-6787.
‘We really want the entire community to come out and celebrate with our championship team,” Preston said. “The parade will start at Man High School and end at Man Junior High. Immediately following the parade there will be a ceremony honoring the boys at the Man Church of The Nazarene.”
During this ceremony, the Mayor Jim Blevins will be announcing the addition of a brick that to be added to the Veteran’s Memorial on Freedom Hill—just outside of town. The block was donated by Chad Preston State Farm and will remain in the wall forever as a reminder of the accomplishments of the First Boys State Championship Team in the history of Man High School.
