Harold Newsom, along with members of his band, One Horse Town (OHT), and Glen and Brenda Adkins of Glen’s Barn and Grill, will host a benefit to raise money for fellow OHT member Bill Hunter and his family after a recent house fire in which the family lost everything they own. The benefit is set for August 16 at 6 p.m. at Glen’s Barn and Grill at Crooked Creek.
Bill is the son of Harry Hunter.
During the benefit, One Horse Town will provide musical entertainment while guests enjoy a hog roast and cookout. Other musicl guests are also scheduled to perform.
“Glen and Brenda have been gracious enough to provide the location and food free of charge,” Newsom said.
The event is free of charge for anyone wishing to attend, however, the band will be taking up donations during the night to benefit the Hunter family in their time of need.
The house fire happened nearly a month ago. Bill, along with his wife Nancy and one of their children, lost everything they had in the fire.
“I know a lot of that stuff you can’t replace,” Newsom said, “but we want to help them out as much as we can.”
For those interested in helping the Hunters but cannot attend the event, donations of any kind (monetary or otherwise) can be mailed to Bill Hunter at 9040 Pt. Pleasant Road, Millwood WV 25262.
