Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College has announced Easy Registration Week for the upcoming school year. The event will last through the upcoming week, August 11-14. The college will be offering a streamlined process from 8am until 6pm daily during this event.
This daily ‘one stop’ process will give more prospective students the opportunity to accelerate the registration process and schedule classes for the Fall 2014 semester.
Southern also would like to remind everyone that although classes begin August 18, there is still time for area residents to get ready for a new job, improve their skills or lay the groundwork for transfer to a four-year institution. Special support programs can help students improve their employability, get a degree or certificate or even finish a degree already started.
Classes are filling quickly at the college but this is an opportunity for new, returning and transfer students to build a schedule of courses for Fall 2014 schedule.
The event is open to students of any age who possess the desire to pursue higher education. Southern is proud of its academic excellence, new facilities, flexible schedules, small classes, low tuition and faculty with both academic and “real world” credentials. Southern’s committed and knowledgeable staff is dedicated to helping students achieve their educational goals.
“We want to make entering or returning to college as simple as possible,” said Joanne Jaeger Tomblin, First lady/President of Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College. “We can provide personalized attention to help prospective students set realistic goals that will lead to their success. We believe everyone can succeed at Southern.”
Southern offers over 50 programs, transfer options, financial aid and scholarships, as well as access to baccalaureate degrees through agreement programs with several universities.
