The suspect in Friday's deadly shooting in the Cow Creek area of WV Route 44 was apprehended Sunday evening by authorities in Columbus, Ohio.

Demetrius Levon Thomas, 30, of Columbus, Ohio, is accused of shooting Dennis Jacob Idyle II, 22, of Cow Creek, Friday evening after a confrontation at Idyle's residence.

Thomas fled the scene and made his way back to Columbus, where he was apprehended Sunday evening by the city's police department.

After the shooting, Idyle was initially treated at Logan Regional Medical Center and then flown to St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington, where he is sedated, but in stable condition as of Tuesday, according to Sheriff Sonya M. Dingess Porter.

Prosecutor John W. Bennett said the Logan County Prosecutor's Office plans to attempt to extradite Thomas back to West Virginia to face charges for the shooting.
