MADISON — A late turn of events helped the Chapmanville Regional High School volleyball team win at Scott on Tuesday night.

Just minutes before the match against the Lady Hawks at Madison, three members of the Scott volleyball squad quit the team.

Chapmanville then demolished the shorthanded Lady Hawks 3-0 to improve to 7-7 on the season.

The Lady Tigers won 25-8, 25-13, 25-12.

“Minutes before the game Scott had three key players quit,”Chapmanville coach Johnny Williamson said. “We played well even if they were down three players. Sometimes when a team is down a couple players it’s hard to keep your team upbeat and ready to play. We played 15 girls in the match trying to get more girls ready to play.”

CRHS is scheduled to return to action with Thursday’s match at Mingo Central in another Cardinal Conference contest.

* In other county volleyball action on Tuesday night, Man defeated Sherman 3-2.

The Lady Billies took the match 20-25, 22-25, 25-11, 25-20, 18-16.

Man (15-6-1) traveled to Lincoln county on Thursday night.
