CHARLESTON — The Chapmanville Regional High School girls’ basketball team made a game of it but lost 73-56 to unbeaten Summers County on Saturday afternoon in the Charleston Catholic Shootout at the Charleston Catholic Athletic Complex.

Brandy Morrison poured in a game-high 27 points to lead Summers County (6-0).

Kristin DesRocher tossed in 18 points and Hillary Hainer 10 for Chapmanville (5-3).

Abby Marcum added nine for Chapmanville. Shian Meeks had seven, Lexin Martin five and Codi Conley three. Kortni Packo and Autumn Blankenship had two each.

The Lady Tigers host Sissonville on Thursday at 7:30 p.m., then play at Logan on Saturday at 6 p.m. in the King Coal Classic. CRHS lost 53-36 earlier in the season to the Lady Cats at home.
