GLENHAYES — The Chapmanville Regional High School girls’ basketball team remained undefeated in Cardinal Conference play and in first place following Wednesday night’s hard fought 38-36 win at Tolsia.


Chapmanville upped its mark to 6-0 in the conference and 7-4 overall with the win. Tolsia dropped to 1-4, 3-6.


The Lady Tigers lead Scott in the Cardinal standings. The Lady Hawks are 4-0 in the league and 6-1 overall. The two teams have a showdown on Friday night in Madison with first place on the line.


Shian Meeks tied her season-high with nine points to lead Chapmanville in the win over Tolsia.


Leading scorer Kristin DesRocher was held to five points. She was averaging 15.9 points a game heading into the night.


Codi Conley added seven points for the Lady Tigers. Lexi Martin had five, while Hillary Hainer, Abby Marcum and Autumn Blankenship netted four each.


Jordan Presley tallied game-high honors with 13 points to pace the Rebels. Savannah Winnett added 12 points and seven rebounds.


Tolsia led CRHS 9-7 after one quarter and 18-16 at the half in the low-scoring affair. Chapmanville then pulled to within 28-27 after three and outscored the Rebels 11-8 in the fourth to pull off the win.


Chapmanville plays at Scott on Friday at 7:30 p.m.


Next week, the Lady Tigers host Sherman on Monday in a non-conference game, then host Wayne on Jan. 23 and go to Herbert Hoover on Jan. 24 in league action.
