Lady Tigers put the smack down on Wayne

CHAPMANVILLE — The Chapmanville Regional High School girls’ basketball team ran its record to 12-6 on the season with last Saturday afternoon’s 63-25 blowout win at home over Wayne in a makeup game.
Chapmanville, now 9-2 in the Cardinal Conference, had no trouble with Wayne, which also lost 64-36 at home to the Lady Tigers in the season opener.
Senior guard Kristin DesRocher paced Chapmanville with 18 points. Hillary Hainer had 11.
The Lady Tigers also got eight points from Abby Marcum, six from Shian Meeks and four apiece from Kortni Packo, Autumn Blankenship and NeNe Osborne. Lexi Martin and Kim Lambert had three each. Alyxandra Bush had two points.
Emily Marsh led the Pioneers with 14 points.
The Lady Tigers led 24-11 after one quarter, 46-15 at the half and 58-19 after three. Wayne outpointed CRHS 6-5 in the fourth.
Chapmanville was scheduled to play at Tug Valley on Monday night. The Lady Tigers host Herbert Hoover on Wednesday and then host Mingo Central on Thursday on Senior Night. All games have 7:30 p.m. tip times. CRHS closes out the regular season Feb. 18 at Sissonville.
