SISSONVILLE — Sissonville gained a measure of revenge on the Chapmanville Regional High School girls’ basketball team with Tuesday night’s 62-38 victory over the Lady Tigers in Cardinal Conference action at Sissonville High School.

The Indians, tied for second place in the conference standings with Scott behind first place Herbert Hoover, improved to 16-3 overall and 10-2 in the conference.

Fourth-place Chapmanville dropped to 12-8, 9-4.

The Lady Tigers had upset Sissonville 48-46 earlier in the season at home.

Madison Jones led Sissonville with 23 points, while Karli Pinkerton added 20.

Senior Kristin DesRocher tallied 17 to lead Chapmanville. Shian Meeks had 10, Autumn Blankenship six and senior Hannah Vance three. Abby Marcum chipped in with two points.

Sissonville led 19-9 after one quarter, 34-18 at the half and 53-28 after three.

Chapmanville was scheduled to close out the regular season on Wednesday night against Mingo Central.

The Lady Tigers are set to play Tolsia on Wednesday, Feb. 26 at 8 p.m. in the Class AA sectional tournament semifinals at Logan High School. Scott is the No. 1 seed and plays the winner of the 4/5 contest between Mingo Central and Wayne on Feb. 26 at 6 p.m.

The finals are Feb. 28, also at Logan.

Mingo Central and Wayne meet on Feb. 26 in the play-in game at Chapmanville.
