It was a split on Tuesday afternoon at the Logan High School tennis courts as Logan hosted Winfield.

The LHS girls won 7-0, while the boys lost 4-3 to Winfield.

In girls’ singles action, Logan No. 1 Lauren Chambers was a 9-7 winner over the Lady Generals’ Sydney Miller.

No. 2 Haley Hatfield of Logan defeated Amanda Nelow 8-0.

Then in the No. 3 singles match, Logan’s Morgan Browning prevailed 8-3 over Krista Angelorisova.

Hanna Lester of Logan then won 8-1 over Winfield’s Ashley Dawson.

In doubles, the No. 1 team of Chambers and Browning defeated Winfield’s Miller and Amanda Nelow, 8-2.

Hatfield and Lester then won 8-0 over Anusha Khawje and Samantha Cule.

Logan’s No. 3 doubles tandem of Brooke Mollett and Adrianna Fleming also won over Ashley Dawson and Maddie May by an 8-1 score.

On the boys’ side, Logan No. 1 Keith Williamson was an 8-0 winner over Adam Walters of Winfield.

Jacob Adkins of LHS won the No. 2 singles match with an 8-3 score over Jarren Tay.

Winfield then won in the No. 3 and No. 4 singles matches.

In the No. 1 doubles match, Williamson and Adkins won 8-0 over Mammizt Drewell and Tay.

Winfield won the No. 2 doubles match and took a win in the No. 3 by default.

The Logan tennis team was scheduled to play Spring Valley at Huntington’s Ritter Park on Wednesday.

On Friday, LHS is slated to host St. Albans. In the event of rain the match will be moved indoors to the Chief Logan Rec Center tennis courts, Logan coach Justin Turner said.

Then on Saturday , Logan has a tri-match against Nitro and Hurricane at West Virginia State University.
