CHAPMANVILLE — Kristin DesRocher had a fine prep basketball career at Chapmanville Regional High School.

And now the graduating senior will get to play one more game at the high school level.

DesRocher, a 5-foot-9 guard who led Chapmanville into the Class AA regional co-championship game and scored 15.9 points a game for the Lady Tigers this season, has been named to the West Virginia All-Star roster for the Consol Energy West Virginia-Kentucky All-Star Game, which is scheduled to be played on April 19 at the Mingo Central High School gym.

DesRocher, an all-state player and a Glenville State signee, will team with several top players from around West Virginia.

The West Virginia All-Stars, coached by Huntington St. Joe’s Shannon Lewis, will have a couple of his own players on the squad with Rachel Lee and Asia Petitte. Petitte will be heading to Division I Evansville University to play college basketball next fall. Lee was a first team all-state selection, while Petitte was a third-team pick.

Lee and Petitte led St. Joe to the school’s sixth straight Class A state championship last month.

Two other Class AA all-state players will suit up for the West Virginia All-Stars. They are Ali Whitman of Scott High School and Savannah Winnett of Tolsia. Whitman has signed to play at Division I UNC-Greensboro.

Hannah King of Herbert Hoover is on the roster as well along with Hannah Armstrong of Tug Valley.

Mariah Callen of University High, who will play at Wheeling Jesuit next year, is also on the West Virginia roster.

Three other players added by Coach Lewis late Friday afternoon were Danielle Brown and Faith Davis of Westside and Sierra Jordan of Cabell-Midland. All were crucial parts of their respective teams in the 2013-14 season.

Davis was a Class AA all-state selection for the Lady Renegades, while Brown was on the honorable mention list.

Westside won the Class AA state championship in March.

The girls’ all-star game is scheduled to tip off at 6 p.m. at MCHS. The boys’ game will follow around 8 p.m.

There will be a 3-point shooting contest and slam dunk contest as well between the two games.
