Logan County’s three softball teams saw mixed results over the weekend at the Best of the Best Tournament at Buffalo.

The Logan High School softball team saw its 15-game winning streak to open the season snapped as the Lady Cats lost 3-1 to Cabell Midland and 8-0 in six innings to Lincoln County on Saturday.

Logan (15-2) went 2-2 at the Best of the Best, also winning 14-0 over Shady Spring and 8-7 over Winfield last Friday night.

Hurricane ended up winning the Class AAA Best of the Best championship with a 5-4 victory over Lincoln County. LC also beat Morgantown, 5-1, earlier in the tourney.

In the Class AA-A field of the Best of the Best, the Man High School Lady Billies won 10-0 over Doddridge County on Saturday to finish 2-1 in the tournament.

Man (9-9) had earlier scored a 3-1 win over Nicholas County and had lost 8-2 to host Buffalo.

The Chapmanville Regional High School Lady Tigers split on Saturday in the Best of the Best, winning 3-2 over Nicholas County and losing 2-0 to Buffalo.

Chapmanville is 11-7 overall. The Lady Tigers were 3-1 at the Best of the Best, also taking wins over St. Marys (8-1) and Richwood (10-0).

Shian Meeks was 2-for-4 for CRHS in the Nicholas County game. Hollie Carter, Lauryn Easterling, Savannah Wiley, Carley Cook and Hope Kirk all singled.

In the Buffalo game, Carter, Meeks, Kirk and Caitlin Elkins all singled.

Cydnee Lambert pitched for the Lady Tigers in both games.

Buffalo beat Sissonville 8-4 in Saturday’s Class AA-A Best of the Best title game.

Scott High School ended up getting ousted on Saturday with two losses to Sissonville by 3-0 and 6-4 scores.

Buffalo stands at 9-5 on the season after the title. Courtney Allen and Ali Burdette had two hits each for the Bison. Alexis Haynes had two hits for Sissonville.

Hurricane won its Class AAA Best of the Best title with Addie Fullen’s walk-off home run.

The Chapmanville girls were scheduled to play at Man and also at Scott on Monday night. The Lady Tigers then host Sissonville on Tuesday and Logan on Wednesday in a pair of 5:30 p.m. games.

Logan was set to play at St. Albans on Monday night. The Lady Cats are at George Washington on Tuesday before playing at Chapmanville on Wednesday night. Logan then hosts Lincoln County on Thursday and Scott on Friday.

The Man girls are slated to host Fayetteville in a Tuesday doubleheader at 6 p.m. The Lady Billies then host Scott on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
