The Logan High School boys and girls tennis teams defeated Mingo Central on Monday night at home.
The Logan boys won 4-3, while the Lady Cats were a 7-0 winner.
In the No. 1 boys’ singles, Logan’s Keith Williamson won 8-1 over Julius Hatcher.
In the No. 2, Logan’s Jacob Adkins prevailed over Kyle Surber 8-4.
Then in the No. 3 singles, the Miners’ Brennan Slone took an 8-1 win over Logan’s Cameron Adkins.
Dakota Rawb of Mingo Central then won 8-6 over Trevor Adkins.
In the doubles, Logan’s No. 1 tandem of Williamson and Jacob Adkins were an 8-2 winner over Hatcher and Surber.
Mingo Central’s Slone and Rawb then took an 8-1 decision over Cameron Adkins and Trevor Adkins.
Tyler Moore and Justin Browning of Logan then won 8-4 over the Miners’ Steven Clark and Joey Williams in the No. 3 doubles.
Logan’s girls then swept Mingo Central by taking all seven matches with wins from Lauren Chambers, Hayley Hatfield, Morgan Browning and Hanna Lester. Doubles wins came from Chambers and Browning; Hatfield and Lester along with Brooke Mollett and Adrianna Fleming.
Logan won 8-0 in all individual matches.
The Logan tennis team is scheduled to be back in action Friday at Cabell Midland and return home Saturday for a tri-match against Point Pleasant and Hurricane.
The first serve for Friday is set for 4:30 p.m. Saturday’s match at the Logan High School tennis courts is slated for 10 a.m.
