The rest of the Cardinal Conference Gridorama game schedule has been released by league officials.
This year’s preseason football gridorama is scheduled to be played on Saturday, Aug. 16 at the Scott High School football field in Madison.
Just like last year, all eight teams in the conference are slated to take part in the event.
Game One has Sissonville playing Poca at 1:15 p.m.
The second game has Tolsia battling it out with Herbert Hoover at 3:30 p.m.
Then in Game 3, the Chapmanville Regional High School Tigers are set to have a showdown with last year’s Class AA state runner-ups, the Wayne Pioneers, at 5:45 p.m.
The fourth and final game at 8 p.m. has the host Scott Skyhawks doing battle with the Mingo Central Miners.
Chapmanville went 5-5 last season, while Wayne was 13-1. The Pioneers lost 14-13 at a snowy Wheeling Island Stadium in the Super Six Class AA state championship game. Wayne is also the defending Cardinal Conference champions.
Last year, the Cardinal Conference Gridorama was held at Mingo Central’s Buck Harless Stadium and the Tigers scrimmaged the Poca Dots.
The first day of regular practices are set for Aug. 4.
Teams across the state are also allowed to practice for three weeks during the summer in June.
