CHAPMANVILLE — Action resumed for the Coalfield Youth Soccer League last Saturday as Week 7 matches were played at the Mullens Soccer Complex in Chapmanville.
The 17-and-under Ninjas defeated the Wolverines 15-1 and remained undefeated. Hunter Napier led the Ninjas with four goals, while Walker Jeffery had three. Aidan Napier and Emelia Copley had two each and Joey Vinson and Bryce Hamilton had one each. Two own goals were also counted. Martha Adams scored the Wolverines’ only goal.
The 12-and-under Phoenix beat the Predators 5-1. Walter Macnamara led the Phoenix with four goals and Kalee Vanatter scored one. Jayde Kuenzel scored the Predators’ only goal.
In anther 12-and-under match the Destroyers defeated the Royal Thunder 15-2. John Justice scored five goals for the Destroyers, while Hailey Chewning netted four, Baylie Holton three, Mazie Wheatley two and Davis Dempsey reached the net once. Allie Burton and Savannah Richardson scored for the Royal Thunder.
In a makeup game, the Destroyers beat the Phoenix 4-2. John Justice reached the net twice for the Destroyers, while Hailey Chewning scored one. There was also an own goal scored. Walter Macnamara and Sara Preston scored for the Phoenix.
In the 9-and-under division, the Spartans beat the Minions 2-1. Austyn Burgess and Jacob Deer scored for the Spartans. Sierra Jones scored the Minions’ only goal.
The Fighting Geckos beat the Storm 2-1 in another match. Riley Reed scored both goals for the Fighting Geckos. Jesse Justice scored for the Storm.
The Storm also defeated the Blue Lightning 4 to nil. Jessie Justice scored three goals for the Storm. There was also an own goal scored.
In another 9-and-under match, the undefeated Toxic Shock beat the Pumas 7 to nil. Jaxton Tipton, Ethan Spence, Jacob Walls, Jordan Adams, Christopher Gibson, Michael Havis and Matthew Glandon scored for the Toxic Shock.
The Toxic Shock also beat the Blue Lightning 10-1. Austin Ball, Michael Havis and Jacob Walls scored two goals each for the Toxic Shock while Christopher Gibson, Jaxton Tipton, Ethan Spence and Jordan Adams reached the net once. Peyton Hoffman scored the only goal for the Blue Lightning.
Action will resume at the Coalfield Youth Soccer League this Saturday as the season’s final matches will be played.
