HUNTINGTON – Marshall men’s basketball coach Dan D’Antoni officially announced the addition of 6-foot-3 guard Stevie Browning to the program on Thursday.
Having completed his sophomore season in 2013-14 at Fairmont State, Browning will sit out the 2014-15 season due to NCAA transfer regulations and walk on for the Thundering Herd. He will have two seasons of eligibility remaining.
Browning was an All-Mountain East Conference second team selection in 2013-14. In two seasons at Fairmont State, Browning scored in double figures in 30 games and scored 20 or more in 10 games. He recorded career highs with a 31-point, 12-rebound performance at Notre Dame (Ohio) on Feb. 25, 2014. Browning appeared in 62 games during his career for the Fighting Falcons, with 56 starts.
During the 2012-13 season, Browning helped Fairmont State to the second round of the Division II NCAA Tournament before falling to West Liberty (W.Va.).
A 2012 graduate of Logan High School, Browning received Class AAA All-State first team honors after averaging 25 points and nine rebounds per game and was named the MVP of the North-South All-Star Game, scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds.
