Logan City Police Chief E. K. Harper said a 14-year-old boy who was fishing and swimming down by the river pulled the body of a man to the shore and then ran to McDonalds to get help.

Chief Harper and a family member say Malcolm Ray Meade was swimming at the river with a friend and he hit his head on the rocks, then went under the water and drowned.

The victim was transported to the Logan Regional Medical Center, where Meade’s wife Tammy was waiting to receive treatment and was informed by law enforcement of her husband’s death.
