YUMA, W.Va. — Birdie Jewell Rainwater, 69, of Yuma Camp, departed this life Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at her residence.

Born March 15, 1944, at Sand Creek in Lincoln County, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Stella Rakes Williams. Also preceding her in death were her grandparents; spouse; four brothers: Arthur, Clifford, Wilbur and Ervin Williams; one half-brother, David Wilson, and one-half-sister, Barbara O’Neil.

Birdie was a homemaker and was a member of the Church of Christ.

Those left to cherish her memories include four sons, Ricky (Viola) Rainwater, Leonard (Rebecca) Rainwater, Randy Rainwater, and Dow (Melissa) Rainwater; daughter, Susan (Rob) Davis, six brothers, Danny Williams, Lester (Jeanie) Williams, Earl (Brenda) Williams, Virgil (Mary) Williams, Curlie (Patricia) Williams and Freeman (Pat) Williams; five half-brothers, Rodney (Teresa) Williams, Ed Jr. (Melissa) Williams, Steve (Maureen) Wilson, Larry (Sherri) Wilson and Roger Wilson; six sisters, Arlene (Virgil) Knipp, Kathy (Steven) Trimble, Brenda (Gary) Griffin, Pearl Bradley, Linda Hager and Lucille Williams; five half-sisters, Joyce (Bobby) Rollyson, Jewell (John) Short, Peggy (Donnie) Woolum, Rose (Michael) Keith and Stella (Eddie) Hager; 14 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Our family would like to give a special thank-you to our friends Brenda and Stephanie Baisden.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, June 21, at Collins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.

The family will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

STAFFORD, Va. — Shirley Rose Gibson, 72, of Stafford, Va., formerly of Whitman, was born April 13, 1941, a daughter of Mary Johnson of Whitman and the late Jesse Johnson. She departed this life Monday, June 17, 2013, at Marian Manor.

Also preceding her in death was a son, Larry Gibson.

Additional survivors include her husband, Russell Gibson; sons, William Gibson and wife Janet of Bridgeton, N.J., and Jason Gibson of Fredericksburg, Va.; grandchildren, Joseph, Nicholas and Rachael, all of Bridgeton, and brother, Mack Johnson of Madison.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 21, at Regester Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
