Terry and Kim Conley of Chapmanville are proud to announce the birth of their first child, a daughter, Ryli Pace.
Ryli was born May, 29 2013, at 5:52 p.m. at CAMC Women’s and Children’s in Charleston. She weighed 8 pounds, 5 ounces and was 20 inches long.
Ryli is the granddaughter of Rickey and Donna Conley of Chapmanville and Paul and Carol Adams of Harts.
Ryli and her parents attend Crawley Creek Freewill Baptist Church in Chapmanville.

Logan County School Superintendent Wilma Zigmond was honored with two retirement parties on Saturday, June 8.
During the afternoon, more than 150 of her co-workers, church friends, former students, retired teachers and family celebrated at the 1st Presbyterian Church on Stratton Street where many tears, laughs and memories were shared.
The retirement festivities continued into the evening with a surprise retirement dinner at the Logan Country Club where Zigmond received honors.
Raamie Barker, representing Governor Earl Ray Tomblin’s office, awarded Zigmond with one of the highest honors in the State — the Distinguished West Virginian Award.
U.S. Senator Joe Manchin, represented by Michael Browning, sent his best wishes to Zigmond her upcoming retirement and presented her a letter by.
Many friends showered her with gifts and have made generous donations to the Logan County Education Foundation in Zigmond’s honor and for her love of Logan County kids.
Zigmond has been Superintendent of Logan County Schools since 2007. She will finish her 45 year career with the Logan County School system officially on June 30th.
In her retirement, Zigmond will continue to be an active member of Delta Kappa Gamma, Marshall University Alumni Association - Logan Chapter, the Big Green Scholarship Foundation - Logan Chapter, Southern West Virginia Community College Board of Governors, and the West Virginia Boys Scout Chief Cornstalk State Council.
| 50 | | On June 14, 2013, Logan County Sheriff’s Department received a complaint through 911 in reference to a gold Toyota pickup and the possibility of its occupants selling narcotics in the Man area of Logan County.
Cpl. M. C. Sutherland and Deputy J. A. Lyall proceeded to the Man area and located the pickup in the Wendy’s parking lot at Huff Junction and the driver of this vehicle pulled out quickly and sped around the parking lot and pulled onto WV Route 10.
Deputies observed that the driver failed to signal for its left turn, and then the driver made an immediate right onto the parking lot at Speedway Gas Station without signaling again. Deputies initiated a traffic stop on the pickup. Deputies advised the driver the reason he was stopped and asked for his information. He was not able to produce a valid insurance card. Deputies found the driver to be Mickey Shawn Caudill, 42, of Man.
During further investigation, deputies contacted one of the Logan Sheriff’s Department K-9 Units, where K-9 handler Lt. D. E. Brown and K-9 Officer Devlin arrived on scene. K-9 Officer Devlin performed a walk around search of the pickup and indicated on the gold Toyota pickup. Caudill was asked to exit his pickup and a search was performed. Deputies found a switch blade knife, $560 in U.S. Currency, Marijuana packaged into separate bags, six orange Opanas 40 mg pills, two of the tablets were in separate little single dose bags, 22 Roxycontin 30 mg tablets, both prescription medications are a schedule II controlled substance. There was also an additional Roxycontin 30 mg tablet which was cut into two separate halves.
Deputies found a set of digital scales, manual scales, and a box of sandwich baggies which is consistent with selling narcotic on the streets.
Deputies also recovered two loaded firearms, a 38 revolver and a 9mm semi-automatic pistol, and also behind Caudill’s seat, Deputy N. M. Booth found a homemade pipe-bomb. Deputies also recovered a counterfeit $20 bill and a $50 bill from the pickup.
Deputies contacted Sheriff Sonya M. Dingess Porter and advised her of the situation. Sheriff Porter then contacted Major J. B. Schoolcraft of the WVSP to request assistance from a State Police Bomb Technician. WVSP Bomb Tech, Tpr. G. Collins, arrived on scene and safely removed the device.
Caudill was charged with the following crimes: Possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of an explosive device, carrying a concealed weapons without a license, possession of counterfeit money, failure to use turning signal and no insurance. He is currently housed in the Southwestern Regional Jail awaiting arraignment.
