Born October 10, 1930, at Breeden, she was a daughter of the late Granville and Ida Kirk Spaulding. Also preceding her in death was her husband, Harrison Murphy, and one sister, Ruth Workman.
Anna Mae was a dedicated homemaker and mother to six wonderful children, 15 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. She attended the Trace Church of God at Dingess. Anna Mae Loved the Lord and witnessed to many about Jesus.
Those she left to cherish her memory include two daughters, Sue (Mike) Beaver and Sharon (Steve) Brock, both of North Carolina; four sons, Harold (Alice) Murphy of Dingess, Granville “Spot” (Shelia) Murphy of Verdunville, and Terry (Lynn) Murphy and Tony Murphy, both of Chapmanville; four sisters, Virginia (Gish) Galilee, June (Larry) Wolfe, Faye Morris and Sylvia (Don) Lemley, all of Ohio; one brother, Walter Lee (Gloria) Spaulding of Ohio; 15 grandchildren, Tabitha Marcum, Darrell Fillinger, Chadd Fillinger, Crystal Beavers, Angela Branham, Tadenia Conley, Terra Murphy, Lee Deskins, Faith Deskins, Steven Deskins, Jennifer Murphy, Terry Murphy, Shawn Murphy, April Gaelic and Conessi Murphy; 23 great-grandchildren and two special friends, Harleen Mullins and Rosie Baisden.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 13, at the Freeman Funeral Home with Bishop Bobby Carter and Rev. Shawn Walker officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Garden at Godby.
Pallbearers will be Darrell Fillinger, Chadd Fillinger, Lee Deskins, Steven Deskins, Terry Murphy and Shawn Murphy.
Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Branham, Tommy Conley, Henry C. Marcum, Mike Pennington, Bryant Smith and Alvie Chapman.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
